New Zealand's capital. Amazing city, really can compete with Auckland as far as New Zealand's "best city" goes. The population is around 450,000 and growing. It is a very diverse city with a rapidly growing asian population.

Former collier wharf for the old coal-gassification plant through the cutting in Miramar, on Portsmouth Rd. In this roll the wharf previously had rail lines for coal wagons hauled by a small steam locomotive. The old gas plant disappeared in the 1970s. The vessel pictured alongside in the satellite photo was a prop-ship used in the movie remake of King Kong as SS Venture, with a prosthetic superstructure & bow.
